PROJECT UPDATES

JANUARY 2023

 

Our Indiana certified appraisers have been appraising affected properties since November. Our Indiana certified buyers have begun contacting affected property owners to present offers.   

OCTOBER 2022

Right-of-way Engineering has been ongoing since September to prepare necessary legal descriptions and plats for conveyance of land title rights for the affected parcels. Proposed right-of-way staking and remaining geotechnical work will be completed after fall harvest. We anticipate that appraising will start in late October or early November. Our appraisers will contact affected property owners to schedule an appointment to discuss proposed land acquisition.    

JUNE 2022

 

Roadway design for Phase 1 and Phase 1a is still currently ongoing.

As part of the project an archaeological reconnaissance was completed early June completed. This consisted of systematic sampling of the project area to look for things people have made, used, or left behind. All archaeology investigations were conducted in accordance and compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation (48 CFR 44716), the current version of the Guidebook: Indiana Historic Sites and Structures Inventory – Archaeological Sites issued by the Indiana DNR Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology (2019), and recent amendments to the Indiana Historic Preservation Law (IC 14-21-1). Additionally the field work, laboratory analysis, and preparation of the final report and recommendations was accomplished or directly supervised by a professional archaeologist meeting the standards set forth in 36 CFR 61 of the National Preservation Act and 312-IAC-21 of the Indiana Administrative Code. Please note that archaeology reports are environmentally sensitive data and, per state and federal regulations, cannot be distributed, discussed, or viewed by the general public.  

APRIL 2022

 

Geotechnical soil boring fieldwork began in April 2022 and was completed prior to the planting season.
